Michael S. Burroughs

Mike has lived in Alabama his entire life. His father worked at the B.F. Goodrich Tire Plant in Tuscaloosa and his mother was a librarian for the University of Alabama.

Mike attended Tuscaloosa High School, where he was a national merit scholar, enabling him to attend the University of Alabama on a full scholarship. He graduated in 1976 and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa, the nation's oldest and most prestigious academic honors society. Mike attended law school at the University of Alabama as well. He is a member of the Order of the Coif, the academic honor society for law schools, whose membership is limited to the top ten percent of the graduating class. He was also the Managing Editor of the Alabama Law Review.

After graduation, Mike practiced law with the Birmingham firm of Cabaniss, Johnston, Gardner, Dumas & O'Neal for two years. He then returned to his hometown of Tuscaloosa to practice with Phelps, Jenkins, Gibson & Fowler. After seventeen years with that firm, Mike started his own firm in order to provide more personal service for his clients. Now, thirteen years later, he has joined Fischer, Goldasich & Aughtman.

Mike is an experienced trial lawyer. He has tried over 200 cases to jury verdicts in courtrooms throughout Alabama.
